At Refined Athletics, a coaching and consulting business based in Athens, GA, we provide professional services in athletic development, functional fitness, and strength training with a mission to empower individuals to reach their full potential through expert guidance, scientifically backed education, and personalized support.

What separates us from traditional strength coaches is our no-fluff approach that emphasizes mastery of the fundamentals before progressing to more complex exercises. In today's landscape—where social media often spreads overwhelming and misleading fitness information—we help clients cut through the noise by refining essential concepts and delivering them in a clear, digestible way.

Once clients understand which inputs truly drive progress, we hold them accountable to stack consistent, daily wins. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all solutions, we meet clients where they are, adapting our coaching to their unique needs and goals.

We also teach people how to optimize all areas of life that impact performance—training, nutrition, sleep, hydration, recovery, and mindset. With experience ranging from youth athletes as young as six to adults in their seventies—including professional athletes, college students, busy parents, and teenage athletes—were equipped to help anyone improve their health, elevate their performance, and move forward in the direction of where they want to be with confidence.

We understand that not everyone has the same goal, but we believe everyone is an athlete in their own way, and we train with the mindset that we're all preparing for the game of life.

About Jacob Rowell

Hi, I'm Jacob Rowell, founder of Refined Athletics. I grew up in a small town in southeast Georgia before moving to Athens to attend the University of Georgia, where I earned a bachelor's degree in Sports Management and a master's degree in Kinesiology. While at UGA, I gained hands-on experience across the athletic and fitness landscape—interning with the Prince Avenue football team, working in Georgia Football's recruiting and scouting department, and serving as a graduate assistant teaching undergraduate P.E. courses like Intro to Weight Training and Group Fitness.

Since graduating, I've earned the certifications you see listed below. I also serve as a license NFL Agent with Next Gen Sports Agency.

Refined Athletics was born from my passion for strength and conditioning, college and professional sports, education, and personal development. My mission is to deliver a high-level, results-driven coaching experience that empowers individuals to refine their potential—physically, mentally, and professionally.

Team Training

We offer Team Training options where we can train the team in person, provide online programming for workouts, or consult with coaches to help them better understand how to elevate their team's performance. If you are a coach and need help programming warm-ups, speed training, off-season workouts, conditioning drills, or want us to come to your practice and lead the team through speed & agility sessions, we are here to help! If you are an athlete and want to workout with your teammates in a weight room setting or at a track, we can handle that as well. Let us help you and your team perform at its best all year long!
